Structural Engineers for the Christchurch Rebuild

Stroude Ltd has been providing structural engineering services for the Christchurch earthquake recovery since the initial Canterbury earthquake of 04 September 2011.

Since the initial earthquake, Stroude Ltd has been heavily involved in coordination meetings with the EAG (Engineering Advisory Group) as well as the MBIE and Canterbury Technical Forums (CTF).  We have focused on keeping up to date with the constantly evolving technology around new repair methodologies and strategies.  Specifically, we have provided supporting structural design and oversight for the development of two separate concrete slab re-levelling systems.  Stroude Ltd has successfully presented these systems to both the Christchurch City Council and Engineering Advisory Group (EAG).

We have extensive experience with both insurance claims and private home owners.

We offer a full and complete range of Christchurch structural engineering services including:

  • Remedial structural design for residential, commercial and industrial structures
  • Residential assessment and reporting
  • New build design for residential, commercial and industrial structures
  • New apartment blocks less than 4 storeys high
  • Construction observation and certification

At Stroude Ltd we enjoy the technical challenges each project offers, and believe that structural engineering should be people focused, by technically competent professionals that balance good communication with a clear understanding of building physics and creative thinking.  We are always striving to find better ways to tackle the challenges of each project.
